If you don't have any family or friends that would take you in the only other thing I can think of is a shelter, you should google homeless shelters and put the name of your city or town and it will tell you where the closest one is. The only other thing I can think of is to call 211 and see if you have that service where you live and it lists all shelters and soup kitchens available as well as places like Catholic charities. I have been trying to find a solution to keep my kids a stable environment but I'm failing them. So I ask you do you have any advice or help for my family we have a notice to vacant tonight at midnight if I don't pay the rent. it is so sad, all the people in this country with serious conditions and no insurence! thats one thing i am very thankful for, is that no matter what my family goes through, we are covered by medicaid. if i had money to help you i would, but we are going through our own financial difficulties right now being practically homeless with our children. But i will definitly pray for GOD to show you a way out of your current situation and bring peace to your life.

I am here on Aid page to share my story and seek your prayers and assistance or direction for help. I hurt my right eye in October, 2010.
I started seeing branches and droplets in my right eye. I wear contact lenses so I thought I had a dirty lens. I took the lens out but the branches and drops still appeared in my right eye.
In a matter of days, I started losing vision in my eye. From the outside I appeared normal to anyone looking at me. Within two weeks, I couldn't see out of my right eye. I was self employed with no insurance so having to stop work really hurt. With the economy the way it's been, we have not been able to save anything and I could not afford to go to the doctor.
Finally right before Christmas my wife took me to the doctor using some money we received from family members for Christmas. Immediately the doctor advised us I had a detached retina. It had been over six weeks since the incident and the doctor said my eye was dying. We explained why we haven't come in till now. They said they would work out a payment plan with us and scheduled me for surgery the very next morning. I had surgery the next morning and the retina is reattaching, and for this I am very thankful.
However, I have been out of work with no income or any financial assistance. Almost thirty days after the surgery, I still am restricted to inside the house with limited activity as the eye is healing and I have extreme light sensitivity and am taking multiple medications.
I will be having a second surgery in another month to have the oil ball removed from my right eye that was implanted to force the retina to reattach. The recovery from the second surgery is supposed to about four weeks, where the recovery from my current surgery is about eight weeks.
That's a total of twelve weeks from the date of the first surgery of not being able to work and I had to stop working in November because I could not see in my right eye. We owe $5000 for the first surgery and it's going to be about the same for the second. I have no insurance or current way of paying the doctor (or any of our bills, for that matter). We inquired for assistance but because I was self employed when I had the accident, we do not qualify for any assistance.
We are are need of your prayers as well as any direction toward assistance for us. Thank you for your time, prayers and consideration.

Good news Cheryl called and she doesn't care if I use her first name she said but surgery was a success and all she has to do till Sunday is keep her head face down and she should be able to have 50 percent vision in her eye...Here's too you and I am glad it went so well. Now the hard part laying face down..
Will update when I can and she said thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts.
in response to nini3...Oh Nini your just the sweetest, yes Friends surgery is very serious and about as frightening as they come and when I spoke with her yesterday she seemed more concerned about the recovery process as she has to lay down flat for up to 2 weeks I think she said and to my knowledge she has no one to help her when she gets home other than her husband. She has been the sole caregiver to her father and her husband and I just don't know what she's going to do. She told me to tell you something about doing something on or for a computer but she couldn't do it as her computer is at someones house getting fixed. Anyway she is staying foremost in my mind until I hear from her again. Thankyou little one for the post and the ingo. Love you lots sheshe (mamashe)

I did a post earlier as she called me friendshelpingfriends and the eye surgery for the 18th was cancelled when the doctor saw that the hole had gotten bigger. And set a date to have surgery at the hospital vs the eye clinic. See how it works out and I will be glad when this part is over for her.
And yes prayers are needed. She sounded good but didn't spend much time on the phone as I know this is upsetting to her..

Latest News On Friendshelpingfriends:---Friends (Cheryl) just called me and was just going out the door to go to the hospital and wanted me to let everyone know her status. The hole in her eyeball is now so large you dan see it from by just looking at her eye and the hole is bigger and so painful she is in tears most of the time and unable to sleep. The Dr's will start her surgery about 11:15 and expect the surgery to take 4+ hours depending on whether or not they have to remove the eyeball. I told her we were all praying for her and she said "thankgod someone is" so keep it up gang, let's try to keep her in our thoughts for the next 4 or 5 hours.She is scared to death that she will wake up and have no eye and quite frankly if you or I were in her situation I'm sure we would be as afraid as she is. She sends us her love and when she can get her computer fixed she will be here to thank us all personally. OK, thats the latest and if I hear from her again I will let you all know. Hello everyone
Friendshelpingfriends called me this morning and asked that I pass on that on Oct. Wed. 20th at 9:15AM she goes into the hospital and at 11:15AM they do surgery for 4 hours. At which time they will see if the eye is infected but the hole in the eye is getting bigger so there is a big possibility she might lose the eye. She has been getting headaches and said if losing the eye stops the headaches it would be worth it.
Today Tuesday is blood work and EKG before surgery on Wed.the 20th
So please keep her in your prayers and thoughts that the surgery is safe, successful as it can be and her healing goes well. I will keep you updated when I hear anything new.
